The recent discovery of the Amplituhedron, as a new kind of mathematical object, is confirmation that the object I have discovered is also real. It is also likely at least a pointer towards the question of what the Amplituhedron really means. The problem I have been having is that the language has not yet developed to talk sensibly about some of the concepts involved. Perhaps to sensibly ask questions of this object - not just a new object a new kind of object requires something... new words.
This blog then is inspired by the Amplituhedron and intended to generate some discussion and some new words via the meme-sphere.
I have no idea if I will start with a glossary of terms or with some philosophy, or maybe just with some daily blogs of the things I am studying at the moment. Certainly over time I hope to build up a useful hub of apparently unrelated links, reference material; also the language, symbols and tools to discuss them in some depth.
I have long been of the opinion that there is little point teaching science and technology from many years past. This leads to University level (here in the UK) which is itself largely historical and all out of date by the the time a student graduates. The increase in technology and the unexplored potentials such advances present are accelerating the redundancy of the detail and of many advanced elements of these subjects.
The Amplituhedron most importantly is a simple geometric construction. One mathematical line I wish to follow is explaining how this works and why. Finally! Quantum Mechanics and the mysterious behavior at those scales has a form that any adolescent with some maths background should be able to follow and grasp. This blog aims to make such material available and accessible to any who wish to learn it, or from it.
The other line of inquiry is the more interesting and is philosophical grounding. The Amplituhedron is without time or space and in some sense embedded in time and space, while in some sense generating time and space - in between time and space? or maybe gluing time to space.... you get the idea.
We need to start talking about lengths with no distance and which niether connect nor seperate something which is not space or time, that's a few words missing from our language for starters.
